Thanksgiving and Easter Food Drive

The school organizes and collects food for those in need in Peterborough through our Thanksgiving and Easter Food Drives. Students prepare and distribute flyers in the neighbourhood, and collect donated food. Each classroom also collects items for the food drive. The food is then donated to Sacred Heart Food Bank. We appreciate everyone's generosity. 

Christmas Lunch

The St. John Catholic School Council organizes a Christmas Luncheon. Students are served a delicious Christmas lunch, with meal items donated by our local community organizations.  Staff and students wear red and green to celebrate the Christmas Luncheon .

Christmas Knick Knack Sale

The St. John Catholic School Council also organizes the school's Christmas Knick Knack Sale in December. Students, staff and the community donate gently used items.  Students then come and do their Christmas shopping. All items are priced at $1.00 each and are gift wrapped. Many volunteers make this annual event a huge success. The Catholic School Council uses the monies raised to support school initiatives and events . Donations of wrapping paper, tape and gently used items are greatly appreciated.

Dance-A-Thon

The school's annual fund-raiser is the Day Dance-A-Thon. The Dance-A-Thon's take place during a special seasonal celebration. In the past the Dance-A-Thon has been a Valentine's Day theme, Halloween Patrick's Day theme.   All monies raised will be used to purchase classroom technology, support school excursions and invite special presentations into the school.  Students who participate have the chance to win a variety of prizes.

Thursday Pizza

Every Thursday is pizza day at St. John's. Pizza is $2.00 a slice and follows the Board's nutritional guidelines.

Remembrance Day Assembly 

St. John CES recognizes the contributions of Canadians who served in teh wars with a school-wide Remembrance Day Assembly. Parents/Guardians are welcome.
